Gating is a process whereby wax rods are added to the wax model to facilitate the flow of molten bronze and allow gas and air to escape.

1. The 'wax gater' along with a technical engineer
determine where and how to place
the wax rods for a succesful casting.
Often, more than one piece can be placed
on a wax rod ensuring expedience of process.

2. Gating of a single piece.



3. Cups are added onto the wax rods, (a.k.a., sprues), to receive the molten bronze.
